Cab fittings added since last week are both water gauge frames, regulator mounting bracket and steam brake valve (above brake pedestal) and gauges bracket on the right hand side. Behind the brake pedestal can be seen the copper pipework which goes to the ejector and brings steam from the manifold. 7...
The curved plate sitting on buffer beam is access panel for top of smokebox. This will carry the mounting block for the whistle and gives access from above to the superheater header. 7 July 2015. P GIBBS.

Castings bolted on around the steam pipe to the cylinder on the right hand side. These seal the opening in the smokebox and prevent air being drawn in and destroying the partial vacuum when the engine is working. 18 July, 2015. P GIBBS.
