The Society is registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and donations may attract Gift Aid.

The Locomotive has made two visits off the Bluebell Railway since preservation, when she appeared at the West Somerset Railway "Cross Country Trains" Gala in 2018; and at the Great Central Railway Winter Gala in 2023.

The Society owns a SR CCT (Southern Railway Covered Carriage Truck). This was purchased for use as a component store, but has now been restored by members of the Bluebell Railway Carriage and Wagon Department as a heritage item, to run on demonstration goods trains and at special events. Again, with thanks from the Society; especially to the late Richard Maxwell, who re-instated all the mechanical gear, to make it 'a runner' again.
